Welcome to Class 1 with Miss Kitchin
Here you will find important information about our activities and events throughtout the year. If you are unsure about anything, or just want to have a chat, please either email or phone the school office or catch me on the door as I am always happy to help.
We are very lucky to have our teaching assistants, Mrs Shepherd, Mrs Heywood, Ms Daniels and Mrs Whiteley supporting us in class. Mrs Shepherd will also be teaching the class on Tuesday afternoons for my PPA cover.
Reading days
As they did in Reception Class, the children will continue to bring home two reading books each week. One will be from our Read Write Inc reading scheme and the one of their own choice from the school Reading Realm for you to enjoy together.
PE & Muddy Puddles
Please remember that on our Muddy Puddle and PE day they need to come to school dressed in appropriate PE/ Muddy Puddle kit. The list of kit can be found on the Muddy Puddle / PE dates on the newsletter or on the website here.
Ways you can help your child

Listening to your child read as many times as possible each week and asking them questions about the book. Reading favourite stories to your child as often as possible and emphasising any expression Helping your child to practise their weekly spelling words which will come out every Friday along with their homework. Supporting your child to complete their weekly homework. Helping your child with any further research they may wish to do on the topics we are covering in school. |
